If you’re attending this year’s Affiliate Summit East, then you’re no doubt looking forward to Jim Kukral’s keynote wrapping it up on Tuesday night. You probably even read Jim’s article above in Issue 10 of FeedFront magazine (pg. 12). Jim manages a successful Web business consulting firm (http://www.thebizwebcoach.com) where he helps businesses find ways to skyrocket their sales, leads and publicity through the power of online marketing (at least, that’s what the press release says). I had the pleasure of hearing Jim speak last year at WordCamp Columbus where he reminded me that “YouKnowAlotAboutWhatYouKnowAlotAbout.” I’m not going to sit at a WordPress genius bar anytime soon, but I know more than most when it comes to piecing together a WordPress website, and that makes me pretty useful to non-profits, small business owners, and online marketers like Jim. I left WordCamp encouraged to go be all I could be, and have had a pretty good year because of it.

Jim has a new book coming out this August. Attention! This Book Will Make You Money: How to Use Attention-Getting Online Marketing to Increase Your Revenue will be released shortly before the the Affiliate Summit. (Yes, those are affiliate links-go preorder your copy so you have it before the Summit). But what good is a kick-arse book without a kick-arse website to go with it?

Fifth by Northwest Area Commission

The Fifth by Northwest Area Commission is proud to announce the launch of its newly redesigned website, proudly created by Angie Meeker Designs. A resident of Fifth by Northwest myself, we offered to help the Commission create a website which will allow guests to interact with the Commission through a more consistent navigation, categorization of articles, and integrated social networking capabilities. Meeting minutes and agendas will now be archived by month, our individual committees will be able to post their own news and there is a place for organizations and businesses other than the commission to feature their news which may be of interest to residents and businesses in Fifth by Northwest. The site also features a business directory, by which members can login, add their business’ description and contact information, and make future edits as needed.

Clark-Guy And Associates

The Clark-Guy team understands the importance of relationships. And we have been asked to design ClarkGuy.com to help them better communicate that to their high-net worth clients and centers of influence. The new site will allow them to post information about their products and services, but also to feature case studies of how they have helped individual clients save thousands on their life insurance policies through audits of existing policies. The site will also provide education about individual life insurance products. Watch for the launch of this website before the end of January!

Women In Music Columbus

For the women of Women In Music Columbus, classical music is music to their ears. We recently redesigned the website of this non-profit in Columbus, Ohio and now the website now reflects the vitality and class of the women members themselves.

Their goals were to streamline and standardize the organization’s website to better highlight important and timely information, and to provide a consistent presentation of information from page to page. They wanted to ability to easily include videos and photos showcasing their music performances and social events and needed to the ability to sell tickets to their events easily. As the demographic of their members change, utilizing social networks such as Facebook, Linked in, and Twitter to spread the value of membership becomes more important, so we created accounts on each of those networks and integrated them with the website itself. It was also important to be able to link to other organizations and their members’ own performing groups. They needed to be able to easily manage their concerts and tours. Now, in addition to managing the organizations own concerts, members can submit their own private performances to be published on the site directly (see here).

Mike J Trains

AngieMeekerdesigns is excited to design the website of Mike Johnson, a fitness trainer in Columbus, OH. Mike was looking for an easy to use platform to publish articles about health, fitness, nutrition and motivation. He also wanted a site with varying levels of membership, both free and paid, and wanted to offer paid members a live video training option. We are currently working on creating this site, and will be happy to share the results once finished. Also, we will be happy to share any progress we have in our own training with Mike, as we have chosen him to be our PERSONAL fitness trainer!

Ohio’s Most Wanted

We are excited to announce that AngieMeekerdesigns has been chosen to redesign the existing OHMW.org, a website of the Ohio Crime Stoppers Association. This website features wanted persons from across the state including sexual offenders, missing persons, cold cases and more. Profiles contributed by law enforcement, Crime Stoppers, and the public can include photos, videos, and links to other websites with information about the wanted person. Each contributor must be approved before submitting a profile, and after submission, will be able to edit their profile as needed. To the right is a sneak-peek at the framework of the website. Be sure to check back soon for our relaunch of OHMW.org.

Crime Stoppers Tube – A Video Website

We are excited to announce the release of Crime Stoppers Tube, a website featuring crime related videos for the Crime Stoppers community. The site allows guests to view crime re-enactments, crime prevention videos, and news stories relating to the crime community.

It also features a unique rating system which allows guest to vote for their favorite videos by giving each video stars (1-5). In the future, guests will be invited to become contributors to the site, and will be able to submit their OWN surveillance videos, crime prevention videos, etc…

Sometimes, even the computer people need a little help! PC-Palz, a local computer repair company, contracted Angie Meeker designs. to overhaul their existing site. A streamlined navigation, and cleaner, lighter look, along with forms for completing a service request are key features of the new site. As well, the ability to purchase laptops through use of a PayPal shopping cart are included.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers

Angie Meeker designs is honored to redesign the website of the Central Ohio Crime Stoppers. The website for this indispensable organization is vital in their efforts to reduce crimes and capture criminals.

The new site brings the crimes and criminals from buried inside the site to the front page, through rotating posts which display the most recently posted crimes on the front page, and link to an archive for several categories such Crime of the Week, Wanted, Cold Cases, etc… The site allows multiple authors to edit the site easily, so detectives and “brass” associated with Crime Stoppers can contribute meaningful content as well as the site administrator. As well, guests can interact with Crime Stoppers through comments attached to each article, search for related content through an extensive categorizing feature, subscribe to newsletters, recieve txt alerts and more.

Buckeye Boys BBQ Gets a Yummy New Website!

It seems food in on the brain here at Angie Meeker designs. We completed a redesign of www.buckeyeboysbbq.com, the website of Buckeye Boys BBQ in Deleware, Ohio. Some key features of the new site include a menu on the site as well as downloadable PDF version, photo slideshows of previous events, and a News pages for posting information about upcoming Events. We also addresses an issue many businesses have: The owner Dave already owned his domain, and was concerned that he would not be able to keep his domain if his site were redesigned by someone other than the original designer, or by using WordPress. We handled this simply by forwarding the BuckeyeBoysBBQ.com domain to the new site. We are proud to be friends and partners with Buckeye Boys BBQ.
